Live & Jive started out in February 1997 at the venue Amazon in Flen,
Sweden. About one and a half hrs south of Stockholm. From the beginning it
was a strict rockabilly festival and among the first bands to perform you could
find acts such as Wildfire Willie & The Ramblers, The Go Getters, Phil Trigwell,
Ike & The Capers, The Barnshakers.

For the first three years, Live & Jive was promoted twice a year, but later on it
was moved out of the city to the beautiful countryside and Ökna magasin where
it was only promoted once a year in the summertime, and also welcomed a
wider range of music including psychobilly, surf, country and blues. People
and bands from all over the world has always been frequent visitors and guests
thru out the years and has gained the festival the reputation as the most
popular “authentic”rock’n’roll show in Sweden. The show turned into more of a
“lifestyle event” with a lot of vendors, american cars, bikes, two stages, drink
and food tent. Thousands of people camped out and Live & Jive grew rapidly
and quickly and almost out of control.

After a few years of running the show at Ökna magasin, Live & Jive decided to
return to the original venue in Flen for a 10-year anniversary show with bands
such as Jack Baymoore & The Bandits, Nosey Joe & The Poolkings and The
Explosives. Shortly after that, Live & Jive decided to move to nearby city,
Katrineholm where it is still Live & Jive has always had a great relation with
different sorts of media and has appeared in numerous publications,
newspapers, carmagazines, musicmagazines, national radio, and national TV at
numerous times.

There has been a plethora of world renowned bands at the stages of Live & Jive
thru out the years. The Barbwires, Batmobile, Fifty Foot Combo, Jack Earls, Dale
Hawkins, Red Hot ‘N’Blue, Runnin Wild, Barnshakers, Santos, Hi Strung
Ramblers, Li’l Gizzelle, Bob Log III, The Turpentines, Dusty Chance, Hi Winders,
Slap Sally Combo to name a few.
There has also been a compilation CD released a few years ago, in a limited
edition that quickly sold out and has now become a collectors item.

The story of Live & Jive keeps being written as we speak, but there is no plans of
slowing down.
